I am looking for a recommendation for dance classes for my 6 years old daughter starting in September. She has gone to Paulette’s Ballet studio for 2 years and prior to that she did 1 year at the Needham Dance Theater. She is interested in ballet/jazz/hip-hop type of dance. Can someone recommend a studio in the area? We liked Paulette’s but I want to explore other options.
Thank you,

I'm an Angier mom (and teacher) looking for a short term lease, preferably 6 months or under or month-to-month, with a likely starting date of August 1. We have sold our house and haven't had a lot of luck house hunting just yet. We don't need a lot of space - 2 bedrooms and a bathroom will do!
From time to time, I get a call from one on my contractors looking for work. This time it’s a local electrician who recently did a job for me, rewiring a condo. He’s licensed, neat and competent. He is Latino and his English is good. He got laid off from his electrical company a few months ago and he’s desperately looking for work. I feel bad for him and I told him I would spread the word. His name is Walter Salguero, 617-892-5826 email is: wase70@yahoo.com You can use my name.

Cammie Nguyen is our more-than-wonderful sitter. She has been helping us with after-school care this whole year and will continue to help us pick up our almost 2nd-grader and almost 4th grader from summer camps throughout the summer.
Since Cammie is not taking summer classes (she is a student at Mass Bay), she will be free during the morning & early afternoon hours (before 3pm). If you are looking for some help with your kids, Cammie is available.
Cammie is conscientious, responsible, energetic, and always creative with the kids and their friends. If you have any questions, please feel free to email Cissy Young at csyoung30@comcast.net and Cammie's email is camnguyen0406@gmail.com.

Pine Manor College Child Study Center, a preschool for children ages 2.9 to 5 yrs., is located on the college campus in Chestnut Hill (on the Newton/Brookline border not far off Route 9). They currently have a few part time and full time openings for September. The teachers are really amazing and the school is NAEYC accredited. In addition to a wonderful curriculum, I am always amazed by the activities they offer the children; a Music and Movement class, music with Hugh Hanley, and Puddlestompers are part of the curriculum. The CSC is located on a beautiful college campus and has many wonderful amenities available to the children including: a library the children can walk to, gymnasium for rainy and cold days, nature trails, a duck pond, tennis courts, a recently renovated playground, vegetable garden, etc. The school itself is a free standing, two story house located on the college campus. The CSC has three classrooms with the teacher to student ratio at 1 teacher to 7 or 8 students maximum. The class sizes do not exceed 16 children. Pine Manor students who are education majors are involved in the classroom.
They also give a 20% twin/sibling discount for two children enrolled in the school at the same time!
I am current CSC parent (my girls will be in the four year old class in September), an alumnae of the college, and a current college trustee finishing up my sixth year of service. You can always email me if you have questions, or you can visit their website at http://www.pmc.edu/child_center/index.htm or you can call the Director Lynne Love at 617-731-7039.

- Art history classes aimed at children, classes to be offered to children ages 7 and up, to be grouped by age). This would be an afterschool program intended for children very interested in art and/or history. The students would be introduced to the four major art movements through powerpoint presentations, workshops and (maybe, more likely with the older kids - middle school to high school age) a trip to the MFA or ICA. The classes would be held once a week after school for 8-10 weeks.
- Children's painting techniques class. This class would be more hands-on and projects would focus on particular styles from Jackson Pollack to Picasso to Monet. Children would be grouped by age and the class would be held on Saturdays for 10 weeks.
- Yoga classes. We have instructors who wish to teach mommy/baby yoga, prenatal yoga, slow flow/vinyasa yoga classes. Mommy/baby yoga would be during the morning of a week day, one day per week for 10 weeks. The prenatal and other types of yoga could be in the evening or during the day, depending on demand.
- Hip Hop classes for children ranging in ages from 6 - 50+ - an hour long class, one night a week for 10 weeks.
- Beginners Guitar class for adults and/or kids - one night per week for 10 weeks.
- Photojournalism for adults, one night per week for 10 weeks. Instructor would teach you how to use your digital camera, give you assignments and review the photos with you in class.
